I saw a lot of great things in March, naturally inferring I heard some great things too. Not all were in the context of a rave though, an example being the latest Craig Richards YouTube snippet featured above. As well as providing (almost) my entire April chart, this post also acts as a desperate cry for help in IDing this glorious little number that I'm aware only Richards probably knows. Nevertheless, if you have any idea what it might be then please either comment on this post, or email us. In return we will fight for our lives trying to find it, and show the fruits of our labours on here...
P.S. The concept of a 'monthly' chart seems to have eluded Chris, who's current chart I think dates from February. I've urged him to update it.

Summer is Here!

Well, almost. For us Brits only a mild increase in temperature means getting out all that summer wear that we had long forgotten about over the winter months. All the crammed beaches, exposed beer bellies and toasted skin are somehow worth those few precious days of the year.
So, as promised, here are a few 'summery disco house' tunes, to get you in the mood.
Firstly I've got a couple of tracks from The Phantom's Revenge, a(nother) french house producer who has been making quality french disco since, well, forever.
Plenty of chopped up vocals and bouncing bass lines to get you moving...
Butterfly Bones - Crystal Caves (The Phantom's Revenge Remix)
M.EFE - Alright (The Phantom's Revenge Remix)
And as a little bonus, i've got a remix from the old french house favourites Cassius' latest EP release, a re-release of their famous Cassius 1999 EP. It's by Tim Green, a tech house producer who i'm quite fond of at the moment, his recent tune Old Sunshine is another great feel good tech house track. This remix keeps all the french disco vocals and melody, but adds in a deep bassline and drums.
Cassius - 1999 (Tim Green Remix)
EDIT: Forgot to post this awesome new Joris Voorn tune, released last week. Combining disco samples with a techno beat this track is pretty damn good, and high on the beatport download list as well...
Joris Voorn - The Secret
Moving away from disco, I managed to finally acquire Alex Metric's Edit of Sabotage by the Beastie Boys Yesterday. Take the original, add a killer synth to match the guitars, and you've got a winner. If you've got a chance to see Alex live I would seize the opportunity, he's recently developed a live set as opposed to a DJ one and from the looks of things it's incredible. Full on electro-charged raving.
Beastie Boys - Sabotage (Alex Metric Re-Edit)
Staying on the note of Sabotage by Beastie Boys, this is quite an old remix by DJ Kue. This one really does give it a kick and ramps up the BPM to make it a full-on arm-pumper, no wonder it was played at I Love Techno by the Bloody Beetroots then...
Beastie Boys - Sabotage (DJ Kue OMG Remix)
And finally a new remix of an old favourite of mine, MSTRKRFT. This one is by Jackson Glass, yet again another Parisian, now based in Berlin. Not to be confused with the experimental/electronica Frenchman that is Jackson and his Computer Band. This remix takes away a lot of the distortion, but it's still brilliant.
MSTRKRFT - Fist Of God (Jackson Glass Cover)
Phew. Let's hope the weather lasts.
