Well, almost. For us Brits only a mild increase in temperature means getting out all that summer wear that we had long forgotten about over the winter months. All the crammed beaches, exposed beer bellies and toasted skin are somehow worth those few precious days of the year.



So, as promised, here are a few 'summery disco house' tunes, to get you in the mood.

Firstly I've got a couple of tracks from The Phantom's Revenge, a(nother) french house producer who has been making quality french disco since, well, forever.

And as a little bonus, i've got a remix from the old french house favourites Cassius' latest EP release, a re-release of their famous Cassius 1999 EP. It's by Tim Green, a tech house producer who i'm quite fond of at the moment, his recent tune Old Sunshine is another great feel good tech house track. This remix keeps all the french disco vocals and melody, but adds in a deep bassline and drums.

EDIT: Forgot to post this awesome new Joris Voorn tune, released last week. Combining disco samples with a techno beat this track is pretty damn good, and high on the beatport download list as well...

Moving away from disco, I managed to finally acquire Alex Metric's Edit of Sabotage by the Beastie Boys Yesterday. Take the original, add a killer synth to match the guitars, and you've got a winner. If you've got a chance to see Alex live I would seize the opportunity, he's recently developed a live set as opposed to a DJ one and from the looks of things it's incredible. Full on electro-charged raving.

Staying on the note of Sabotage by Beastie Boys, this is quite an old remix by DJ Kue. This one really does give it a kick and ramps up the BPM to make it a full-on arm-pumper, no wonder it was played at I Love Techno by the Bloody Beetroots then...

And finally a new remix of an old favourite of mine, MSTRKRFT. This one is by Jackson Glass, yet again another Parisian, now based in Berlin. Not to be confused with the experimental/electronica Frenchman that is Jackson and his Computer Band. This remix takes away a lot of the distortion, but it's still brilliant.
